Applicants are required to work with the database, present a documentation of the research and participate in two online public events.

Location: London, UK
Conditions: No Master's degree or equivalent in Art History or Curating. People from lower economic and working-class backgrounds.

By offering an intensive twelve-month curatorial training and London living wage to 12 people from lower socio-economic backgrounds globally we will help diversify the curatorial profession. The programme is divided into five strands: academic seminars, skills training, network development, exhibition-making and coaching and mentorship.

We are looking for applicants from a wide range of backgrounds who can demonstrate a genuine interest in art and culture. Individuals with a BA (Hons) are welcome to apply. Applicants who already have a Master's degree or equivalent in Art History or Curating are not eligible for this programme.. The programme is only available to individuals from lower economic and working-class backgrounds.

All participants will be paid a Real Living Wage, with which you will be expected to pay all bills (including accommodation) once in the UK. This is an hourly rate of pay (currently £11.95/hour for London) set independently and calculated according to the basic cost of living in the UK. The Real Living Wage is updated annually, and employers choose to pay the Living Wage on a voluntary basis. Participants will receive a full-time employment contract for 12-months.

For international participants, New Curators will cover the cost of a twelve-month Tier 5 visa and the UK Immigration Health Surcharge for the duration of the programme.

4.  FORECAST - MENTORSHIP FOR AUDACIOUS MINDS

Deadline: February 26, 2023
Location: Berlin
Conditions: non-specific

Artistic practitioners and cultural producers working in all creative fields, anywhere in the world, are encouraged to apply to Forecast’s international mentorship program. The call is open to applicants of all ages and does not prescribe a theme.

The mentors in Forecast’s 2023–24 edition engage with practices that highlight the autonomy of creative endeavors, and emphasize the significance of independent art-making in today’s deeply politicized climate of cultural production and its reception. The outcomes of the collaborations will be presented at the Forecast Festival at Radialsystem, Berlin, March 15–16, 2024.

It is first and foremost a mentorship program meant to promote a deep transdisciplinary exchange and extend professional networks. If you are selected as a nominee and later, as a mentee, you will also receive an artist fee and production budget, in addition to support in applying to further collaborations and/or funding.
